Artist Bio

Brian Stuligross is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who specializes in modern and contemporary chamber music and ragtime guitar. Primary violin studies occurred at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Boston Conservatory with Ivan Zenaty and Sharan Leventhal, respectively. Stuligross studied ragtime and jazz guitar with the late Woody Mann, himself an acolyte of the Reverend Gary Davis. Notable performances include Ashmont Hill Chamber Music series (music of Tania León) with Steph Davis, “Sustain” at the Experimental Music Oxford concert series, Der Gestanke ensemble’s premiere of The Little Red Hen, the Poppy @88 celebration of Terry Riley, and Ambient Orchestra’s premiere of Glenn Branca’s Symphony 14. Orchestral and theater performances include the Venice, Palm Beach, Hilton Head, and Coastal Symphony orchestras, Broadway International Group’s Sound of Music tour in Singapore and Malaysia, and the Ogunquit Playhouse’s A Little Night Music. His music has been performed by artists such as Sharan Leventhal, Factory Seconds Brass Trio, Der Gestanke ensemble, Katie Landsdale, and the just band.
